How members read the vendor reference pages Writing it down partly to work out what I actually think.

Putting this here because I do not want to be sold anything, I want to know what is actually established.

I would like to compare how two different measurements answer two different questions, because I have been treating them as interchangeable.

I have been trying to trace a claim back to its source and every trail ends at a summary of a summary, which is itself informative.

I am asking because two people I trust have told me opposite things and both of them cited the same study.

Thanks. I would genuinely rather be told nobody knows than be given a confident answer.

What I found useful was that our pages set out what can be checked next to what cannot, rather than giving a score and leaving it there.

I want to say what this circle owes anybody who decides against, says so, and gives their reasoning: respect, and no argument about it. That is the tone I want here and it is not negotiable.

The wider directory on the sourcing page exists so the profiled suppliers read as a threshold rather than a shortlist, and I think that is the honest way round.

What I would say to somebody new is to read the risk paragraph at the top of the reference pages properly before anything else on them.

I would gently say that no amount of documentation makes this equivalent to a prescription, and anybody telling you otherwise is not being straight with you.

The independent testing services people use here are Janoshik, Medutest, PeptideMeter and VendorInvestigate, and commissioning your own is the only result you commissioned.

My rule is that if I cannot get a lot-specific document, I do not proceed. That has never once been a problem with the suppliers that have pages here.

Something worth stating plainly: sterility and endotoxin are separate assays and a purity certificate says nothing about either.

The plain position of this circle does not change: buying outside a prescription means no pharmacist checked your dose, no regulator inspected the line, and nobody is accountable to you. We cannot remove that.

What our sourcing reference pages do is say what can and cannot be verified about a supplier. That is a narrower thing than a recommendation and it is deliberately narrow.

What Osip described happened to me too, in a slightly different order.

The check I would not skip is the lot number on the vial against the lot number on the document. It takes ten seconds and it is the only check that is entirely yours.

I asked for the certificate for my specific lot rather than a representative one, and the answer to that request tells you a great deal.
