Under the ribs and round the back

Recording this for the record.

Dizzy standing up, twice, badly enough that I sat down on the pavement. It was dehydration. I had not understood that you can get to that point without noticing.

Dehydration bad enough for an urgent-care visit. Wrote it up as a warning.

I need to write this down while it is fresh. Pain that started under my ribs on the right and went round to my back and would not settle for anything. I have never been frightened by my own body in quite that way before.

Rang the out-of-hours service at eleven at night, which I would once have died rather than do. She was completely calm, asked me six questions, and told me to come in.

It was not the medication in the end. It was worth finding out that it was not, and I would do the same again tomorrow.
