Anniversaries

Anniversaries do something to my whole week and I have stopped being surprised by it.

A hard spring around an anniversary, and eating fell away.

Six weeks of managing almost nothing. The nurse noticed before I did and asked one direct question.

People bring food. I cannot face any of it and they are being kind and I do not know how to hold both of those.

My father died in March. I have not eaten properly since and I am writing that down because I have been pretending otherwise to everybody including myself.
