Two nights in

Two nights in, home now. Everyone was kind and nobody made me feel stupid for coming in, which was the thing I had been most afraid of.

Gallbladder out. Wrote about it without drama and it has helped a lot of people.

Paused everything on the ward, as expected. We will talk about restarting at the follow-up and I am not going to rush that conversation.

What I did not expect was how much of the fear was about being a nuisance rather than about being ill.

Surgery is done. I am sore and slow and enormously relieved. The surgical team asked me a lot of careful questions about the medication and I was glad I had the details written down.
