I picked it up on the twenty-eighth of March. It has been in the fridge door behind a jar of rhubarb jam ever since, and every single day I have opened the fridge, looked at the box, and closed the fridge again.
I am not sure it is the needle. I have had blood taken plenty of times without fuss. I think what has me stuck is that this is the first medicine I have ever taken where I am the one deciding to start. Nobody is standing over me. The nurse showed me on an orange, said I would be grand, and then I was outside in the car park holding a paper bag and it all felt enormous and slightly ridiculous.
My sister thinks I am overthinking it, which is true and also not very helpful. What I keep landing on is: if I start, then it is real, and then I have to have opinions about how it goes. While the box sits there I do not have to have any opinions at all.
I am not asking anybody to talk me into it. I would just like to know whether anyone else has had a box in the fridge for over a week, and what got you from there to actually doing it. Or whether you did not, and that was fine too.
